I really liked my stay at the Birdcage

Good spot, everything was clean and staff was helpful, all the cats were very adorable and sweet

The hot shower wasn't too hot

great location and staff. exceptional value. best part is that it is removed from girlie bar areas.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Birdcage Boutique. Overall our stay was very good. The room was a good size with an en suite attached. The courtyard and pool area was a really nice area to relax and play cards with a drink and was sheltered from the busy city. The staff were friendly and attentive too.

Overall we had a good stay. However there were a few things that could be improved. We stayed on the ground floor near the bar area, and this was loud on a few of the nights. Also the shower in our room was cold.

Location is great, quiet side street but still close to walk into main centre with ease. Clean, very large room with fan and Aircon. Large bathroom. We got the room with balcony, which again was very large and really made the stay memorable, as it had comfy chairs and an outdoor fan. It was above the bar, but the noise didn't travel at all. Staff were OK - not overly helpful but generally not rude (except one instance above). If the above was fixed or better communicated this would be 10/10, and it does offer excellent value for money.

Wifi was not working for our entire stay, and had been broken for a day prior to our arrival. Not sure when it was ever fixed. Obviously was not hotels fault (provider) but after 4 days I feel they should be looking into alternative provisions (e.g data hotspot) for the guests, or at the least have some sort of compensation for the hassle, as it is advertised as having wifi.The other issue was the pool. It is used for swimming lessons for outside guests in the afternoon. This essentially means the pool is unusable for hotel guests in the afternoon (2-4) as the outside guests take over the area (noise, take the loungers, jumping into pool and splashing guests etc.). We felt this was at the expense of paying hotel guests which was a disappointment. None of this was communicated and when I bought it up I was dismissed, somewhat rudely (but could be language difficulties also).Presumable the wifi will be fixed, and if you are not wanting to use the pool in the afternoon then this is an amazing hotel, 10/10. For us we were after internet and relaxing at the pool, and this was hindered by above, so I give 6/10.

We liked the rooms and the beds were comfy. The ac worked plus there was a fan in the room as well. We liked the bar and pool area to chill and meet fellow travellers.

It’s not brand new but we didn’t expect that. It’s clean and comfy with great staff.

A real peaceful oasis among the craziness of the city. Very attentive and laid-back staff. Chilled atmosphere. Good quiet sleep. Good location.

I didn't stay for the breakfast but I ate there the night before and the food was excellent, staff was friendly and I even got the opportunity to meet one of the owners. Down to earth crew, fantastic service and all in all a very positive experience

The staff were very accomodating and professional. A welcome drink set the scene. Very comfortable rooms and lovely outside setting.

Large room lovely pool nice location, be mindful of hotel conversion rate and don’t order the pizza.

Better selection of tea and coffee in the rooms would be good.

It feels like the staff are more interested in their bar/restaurant than the hotel. In 3 days I never saw a member of staff at the hotel desk and you had to seek them out from the bar for any help. The bar also plays loud music quite late (when your room is right next door), even when no guests are at the bar and they are just chilling with their mates. The cleaning service also didn’t empty my bathroom bin, which we know is not ideal in Asia…

A gentle relaxed atmosphere,with kind , attentive staff. The room was large,clean with all the necessities you need and a brilliant shower!The location is excellent five minute walk to Independence Monument and the staff are super friendly like all Khmers.We stayed here on three different times during our month long trip, having read reviews about noise,I can say that although the bar area is open to the public, it was never noisy. Great little pool which is ideal for cooling down after a day sightseeing and perfect for keeping the kids quiet.The restaurant does great Khmer and western food too.

Nice hotel, spacious and well furnished room. Large outdoor seating area downstairs nice for a drink in the evenings. Good to have the pool. Lots of restaurants nearby. Ok breakfast choices (from menu, not a buffet)

The only seats by the pool are the tables and chairs for the bar/restaurant, no sun loungers. The large gates to the street were usually left open so we felt very visible and uncomfortable while in the pool area. There was work going on when we stayed so the hotel restaurant only served breakfast and no other food. (Stayed June 2024)The toilet and shower in the bathroom were on a raised floor causing water from the shower to spill onto the floor, and making it awkward to get onto the toilet.

Room was light and spacious with a modern ceiling fan and aitcon. There was a small table for working and water and towels as needed. The pool is small but given the boutique nature and location it's understandable. Friday steak night was great.

Large bedroom, very clean. With a restaurant,bar area and pool. Great location.I'll use this hotel for my stays in PP.
